Owners' Statement
In 2004, Kory was lucky enough to find his calling in caring for those with developmental disabilities. After working for large profit-driven supported living companies, he came to the conclusion that an individual's care should never be considered a "margin" or a "case number." It was in late 2013 that he decided to create an elite company employing experienced staff, an active leadership team, and the operating goal of 100% consumer and guardian satisfaction.
In early 2015, Jonathan joined the team. After years of working in other capacities, he helped grow the agency, noting the care for employees and individuals served. The focus on people, not numbers compelled him to actively pursue joining Kory in his pursuit of setting the bar for all Supported Living agencies.
What makes A Steady Hand Ltd. different from other agencies? We can guarantee you greater hands-on quality assurance from Administrators and support staff alike. Where most agencies expect monthly Quality assurance checks, we provide multiple monthly home visits, and are more than willing to furnish the results of these audits at any time. Competing agencies start their employees at $13 per hour (or less!), but A Steady Hand Ltd. guarantees a minimum of $17 per hour to any employee for wake shifts. We hire experienced Direct Support Professionals, and then personally train them before allowing them to enter the home and begin serving your loved one. This puts us in a class above the rest!
A Steady Hand Ltd. expects 100% from our employees, and we pay them well above the common industry pay-scale. In turn, our providers are held to a standard above competing profit-driven corporations consisting of the revolving door of unqualified caretakers. Same day communication and consistency of care make up the foundation of our success, and is solidified by the base of our employee pyramid of providers we trust and have known for decades via our experience in Supported Living. A Steady Hand's Program Directors have smaller caseload volumes of both staff and consumers; therefore, they have ample time and energy to respond to any concerns. Every guardian will have the owners' personal cell phone numbers and email addresses to contact them at any time necessary.
Finally, as the Executive Team of A Steady Hand Ltd., it is not our goal to grow to be a huge conglomerate of multiple business lines with numerous regions and resources stretched around the state. We promote a high quality of care, therefore it is imperative that our staff and administrators understand the inner workings of each individual's daily routine and Individual Service Plans (ISP). We know many directors and owners of companies who have never entered a home or even met the consumer they are serving, and that is not acceptable servant leadership! Our pledge to you is to form a relationship with each individual we serve, plus we are not shy of working any direct care shift ourselves. Our consumers deserve the best, and A Steady Hand Ltd. is ready and willing to provide the best life possible for each individual entrusting us with their care.
